The Welsh Assembly Government’s school effectiveness framework (SEF) aims to deliver strong and effective school leadership and high-performing schools. It provides the overarching policy to drive improvements in educational standards and provision over the next decade. The SEF will focus simply on three inter-related priorities: improved literacy levels, improved numeracy levels and reducing the impact of poverty on educational attainment.
Therefore this course will focus on providing a range of practical, ‘lesson ready’ teaching ideas that allow teachers to improve Numeracy levels with a particular focus on estimation and rounding, number and number processes, fractions, decimal fractions and percentages, money, time, measurement, data and data analysis.
